We are a free, independent hybrid file-sharing service. Our mission is to make sure people keep their data safely in their own hands, exactly as it should be.
Straight from your device
When using Direct Mode, we store absolutely nothing online. Your files never touch a server. Simply close your browser tab to stop sending. We use WebRTC technology to find the shortest path, meaning your data might not even leave the building.
True Auto-Resume & Perfect Sync
Unstable internet? No problem. SmartShare uses military-grade Stop-and-Wait flow control. If your Wi-Fi drops halfway through a massive file, the transfer pauses. The moment you reconnect, it resumes exactly on the byte it left off.
No file size limits (Direct Mode)
Because we don't store your data in Direct Mode, there are zero limits on file sizes. Share gigabytes of 4K video or massive project folders instantly. You are only limited by your own data usage and hard drive space.
Only the receiver can access your files
Only you and the receiver can access your files. Your data is encrypted end-to-end, and can only be read by your receiver (and you of course). SmartShare currently uses an implementation of DTLS 1.3.
Self-Cleaning Cloud Links
Need to share a file quickly via a link? Switch to Link Share. We vault your file securely in the cloud. You set the expiration timer or limit it to a single download, and our servers automatically shred the file the second time runs out.
Low environmental impact
By bypassing bulky, energy-hungry server farms and routing data directly between phones and laptops, you have a much smaller carbon footprint than when using traditional big-tech cloud storage providers.
